It looks as though we’ll soon be able to cross Olivia Colman off the list of “Biggest stars who have yet to appear in the MCU”.
According to THR, the Oscar winning actress is in negotiations to join the Disney+ Marvel series Secret Invasion, adding her to the long list of esteemed actors (and Oscar winners) who have lended their talents to the Marvel Universe.
Secret Invasion will presumably pick up from where we left off with Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury in the post-credits scene of Spider-Man: Far From Home, aboard a spaceship on a mysterious mission. The series will co-star Ben Mendelsohn, reprising his MCU role as Talos, along with newcomer Kingsley Ben-Adir, who is rumored to be playing the series’ main villain.
No word yet on who Colman would play. The actress is currently Oscar-nominated yet again for her role in The Father opposite another Oscar-winning MCU veteran Anthony Hopkins. She’s no stranger to television, having been nominated for three Emmys – one each for The Night Manager, Fleabag, and this past year for The Crown.
