Vancouver Film Critics Cite ‘Mank’ and ‘Promising Young Woman’ Among Their Nominees

The Vancouver Film Critics Circle have announced their nominations for the best in film this year, with Mank, Nomadland, and Promising Young Woman leading the field as their Best Picture nominees.

Mank leads the nomination total with five all together, adding Best Director (David Fincher), Best Screenplay (Jack Fincher), Best Actor (Gary Oldman), and Best Supporting Actress (Amanda Seyfried) to that Picture nod.

Will it pull off the win in any of these categories? Mank has developed a bit of a run as the bridesmaid, never the bride, earning lots of nominations and rarely any wins (Supporting Actress is the only one of those categories where it has won any awards so far).

We’ll see if Mank has what it takes when the VFCC announce their winners on February 22nd.
