Tom Hardy to Team With Gareth Evans For a New Project

Need some more Tom Hardy in your life? Don’t we all? Gareth Evans seemed to have the same idea, as he’s cast Hardy in the leading role of his next feature, Havoc

According to Deadline, the Welsh director of The Raid films has set up an exclusive partnership with Netflix to produce and direct films for the streamer. Evans’ most recent feature was the Netflix release Apostle in 2018, meaning that he must have had a good time working for the studio.

Havoc is said to be about a detective (Hardy) who traverses the criminal underworld to rescue a politician’s son after a botched drug deal puts him in hot water. It sounds like Evans and Hardy teaming up for their take on You Were Never Really Here, and with Evans at the helm you can imagine we’re going to be in for some brutal, bloody violence courtesy of Hardy’s fists.

Evans’ most recent project was last year’s underrated London crime series Gangs of London, which he co-created and directed several episodes of. The Oscar-nominated Hardy was last seen in the critically maligned Josh Trank film Capone, and is next set to appear in the Venom sequel, titled Let There Be Carnage. It sounds like more carnage is to come for Hardy once Havoc gets underway.
