Keke Palmer to Star in Jordan Peele’s Third Film?

Details on Oscar-winning filmmaker Jordan Peele’s third feature remain locked deep in a vault somewhere none of us can access, but it looks like we’ve got word on who the potential lead of the project is going to be.

According to Deadline, sources say that Keke Palmer will be the star of Peele’s follow-up to the massively successful Get Out and Us

Peele is producing the project with his Monkeypaw Productions, who are still in a five year exclusive deal with Universal. At the very least we’ve got a release date for the film, which is set to hit theaters on July 22nd, 2022. Then again, release dates these days can never feel too concrete.

Palmer broke out at a young age with her titular role in the 2006 film Akeelah and the Bee. She’s worked in film, television, and on stage over the years, while also gaining renown as a musician. She hit a big break in 2019 with a primary role in the smash hit Hustlers, as well as a recurring part on the television series Scream

A leading role in the new feature from one of the most in demand directors in Hollywood would certainly be Palmer’s biggest role to date, putting her on a list next to Daniel Kaluuyaand Lupita Nyong’o as actors who have led Peele’s films. That’s not a bad group to be a part of.

Speaking of Kaluuya, the word is still out there that he will soon be joining Palmer as confirmed members of the new film’s cast, although the formerly rumored Jesse Plemons is allegedly out due to a scheduling conflict.
