The controversy surrounding the Sam Altman film Artificial from Luca Guadagnino appears to be reaching a conclusion. We reported here on the issues plaguing the nearly completed movie, as Amazon had opted not to release it. Once again, Andrew Garfield stars as the OpenAI founder, while the rest of the cast includes Monica Barbaro, Ike Barinholtz, and Yura Borisov in central roles. Now, a distributor seems to have been found.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the embattled film is going to find a home at NEON, assuming the deal comes together. After Warner Bros., Netflix and Focus had already passed on the movie, it had come down to NEON as the highest profile suitor remaining. Now, it appears that Guadagnino’s Altman project is going to be released by them, sometime next year. Stay tuned for more on Artificial.
