Third Annual Gotham Television Awards To Honor ‘Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette’ Cast with Ensemble Tribute

Here is the press release:

The Gotham Film & Media Institute announced today that the cast of FX’s Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette will receive the Ensemble Tribute – in honor of their remarkable performances – at the Third Annual Gotham Television Awards, taking place live and in person on Monday, June 1st at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City.

“From Sarah Pidgeon and Paul Anthony Kelly to every member of this brilliant ensemble, each delivers a performance of rare power and authenticity that brings to life a timeless chapter of history in what is, at heart, a love letter to New York,” said Jeffrey Sharp, Executive Director of The Gotham Film & Media Institute. “Love Story has broken records and captivated audiences around the globe because of their work and the creative choices that brought this group together. We’re excited to celebrate the cast and casting directors Courtney Bright and Nicole Daniels behind Love Story at this year’s ceremony.”

FX’s Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette is a limited series that explores the undeniable chemistry, whirlwind courtship and high-profile marriage of one of the most iconic couples of the 20th century, John F. Kennedy Jr. (Paul Anthony Kelly) and Carolyn Bessette (Sarah Pidgeon). It is the first installment in Ryan Murphy’s Love Story anthology and is inspired by Elizabeth Beller’s book Once Upon a Time: The Captivating Life of Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy.

It was a love story that captured the attention of the nation: John F. Kennedy Jr. was the closest thing to American royalty. The country watched him grow from a boy to a beloved bachelor and media sensation. Bessette was a star in her own right. Fiercely independent and with a singular style, she rose from being a sales assistant to an executive at Calvin Klein, and became a trusted confidante of its eponymous founder. John and Carolyn’s connection was immediate, electric and undeniable. As their love story unfolded on a national stage, the intense fame and media attention that came along with it threatened to rip them apart. Featuring Grace Gummer (Caroline Kennedy), Naomi Watts (Jackie Kennedy Onassis), Alessandro Nivola (Calvin Klein), Leila George (Kelly Klein), Sydney Lemmon (Lauren Bessette) and Constance Zimmer (Ann Marie Messina), Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette charts the complex and heartbreaking journey of a couple whose private love became a national obsession.

FX’s Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette is created by Connor Hines and executive produced by Ryan Murphy, Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson, Connor Hines, Eric Kovtun, Nissa Diederich, Scott Robertson, Monica Levinson, Kim Rosenstock, D.V. DeVincentis and Tanase Popa. Max Winkler executive produced and directed the pilot episode. It is produced by 20th Television.

Love Story is FX’s most watched limited series on Hulu and Disney+ with over 80 million hours streamed.

It was previously announced that Kerry Washington will receive the Spotlight Tribute, Claire Danes will receive the Performer Tribute, Michelle Pfeiffer will receive the Legend Tribute, and Matt and Ross Duffer will receive the Visionary Tribute for Netflix’s Stranger Things at the Third Annual Gotham Television Awards. Nominees in the competitive categories were announced on April 28, 2026. Winners will be honored at the awards ceremony at Cipriani Wall Street on Monday, June 1st.
