Armando Iannucci to Write ‘Paddington 4’ With Dougal Wilson in Talks to Return to Helm Film

Paddington 4 is set to move past the development stage, with Variety reporting that Armando Iannucci is set to write the screenplay. Iannucci is best known for his television work on Veep and The Thick of It, but he has also helmed films such as The Death of Stalin and The Personal History of David Copperfield, which both received tremendously positive reviews.

Moreover, Paddington in Peru director Dougal Wilson is also in talks to return to helm the fourth installment. Wilson stepped in after filmmaker Paul King was busy working on Wonka with Timothée Chalamet, and made his feature film debut with the third film after a career directing commercials and music videos.

Paddington 4 was one of two entries that were announced by Studiocanal and Canal+ Chief Content Officer Anna Marsh at CinemaCon, with an animated film also in the works. More details for both pictures are likely to be announced soon, so keep an eye out for updates as they come!
