Paul Thomas Anderson Did An Uncredited Re-Write of ‘What Happens at Night’ for Martin Scorsese?

Paul Thomas Anderson is fresh off of a trio of Academy Awards for One Battle After Another, which marked the first time he actually got to direct Leonardo DiCaprio, after having nearly gotten him for Boogie Nights earlier on in his career. Well, it seems that DiCaprio and him have actually partnered on some Martin Scorsese work, including an uncredited re-write of Patrick Marber‘s screenplay for What Happens at Night, where DiCaprio stars alongside Jennifer Lawrence. More below.

According to Jeff Sneider, as well as World of Reel, not only has PTA done a re-write of What Happens at Night, it isn’t even the only time he’s worked on a Scorsese film. Apparently, Anderson also did a pass on Killers of the Flower Moon, which was still credited to Eric Roth and Scorsese himself, so it’s an uncredited reunion of sorts. Both times apparently were at DiCaprio’s request, too. Just something to keep an eye on in a year and change when What Happens at Night comes out.
