Folks, as we continue to transition from 2025 fully into 2026 (minus awards season coverage, of course), a perfect end point of sorts to share with everyone is what some of the other folks on staff thought of the movies. Yes, it’s time for the Awards Radar staff to chime in with their top ten lists. You fine folks already know my ten favorite films of the year (found right here), but what about the others? I’m actually surprised, and a little relieved, at the diversity of #1 picks here. With just how thoroughly it has dominated the precursors, a part of me assumed One Battle After Another would have just cleaned up with the staff. But only three of us placed it on top.
For sure. Very heartening to see the variety!
Oh, and big shout-out to Searchlight Pictures for damn-near hiding The Testament of Ann Lee until just before the Oscar nominations are announced. I would have gladly included it among my own
top tentop five of the year had you geniuses not seemingly decided to sabotage its theatrical rollout and make it impossible for anyone to see it for themselves outside of a few small pockets of Los Angeles and New York City for nearly a full month.Good job, guys.
There’s always at least one, every single year…
By awarding 10 points for each film’s #1 placement, 9 points for a #2 placement, etc., the collective Awards Radar Staff Top 10 of 2025 would be:
For now, the only 2025 film that I’m at all certain will make my Top 10 by the time the Oscars come around is Left-Handed Girl. I have much more to see. Bonus points to Danny and Cory for having the only lists to include Die My Love. I’m pleasantly surprised to see it recognized here.
Thanks as always for doing this!
