First trailer for ‘Love, Brooklyn’ Teases Another Great Performance from André Holland

The first trailer for Love, Brooklyn has been released online. Directed by Rachael Abigail Holder and written by Paul Zimmerman, the film stars André Holland, Nicole Beharie, DeWanda Wise, Roy Wood Jr., Cassandra Freeman, and Cadence Reese.

Here is the plot synopsis:

“A writer (André Holland, Moonlight) navigates complicated relationships with his ex, an art gallery owner (Nicole Beharie, The Morning Show), and his current lover, a newly-single mother (DeWanda Wise, She’s Gotta Have It), with the support of his best friend (Roy Wood Jr., The Daily Show).”

Our editor-in-chief, Joey Magidson, had a chance to see the movie at Sundance and said that “Love, Brooklyn is just good enough to make you wish it was better, but that doesn’t take away from its low-key charms. It feels in some ways like a missed opportunity for a more all-encompassing New York romance, but what it sets out to do, it largely does. There’s a unique perspective at play, which does help set it apart, ultimately contributing to its success.” You can read his full review of the movie here.

You can check out the trailer below and see the movie in select theatres on August 29, before expanding on September 5:
