Interview: Molly Gordon and Logan Lerman Discuss Their Impeccable Chemistry in ‘Oh, Hi!’

When you put the right two performers together, especially in a romantic comedy, magic can happen. Oh, Hi! is a great example of just that, as Molly Gordon (who had a hand in writing the film as well) and Logan Lerman absolutely tear into the material. Their chemistry and performances are something to see. With the movie hitting theaters in a few days, I’m thrilled to present my short chat with the two of them.

In my review of Oh, Hi! (here), I said the following about Gordon and Lerman:

Molly Gordon and Logan Lerman have incredible chemistry together, so much so that you’d think they’d work together several times before. You quickly grow to like them, to the point where, despite some wild behavior by them both, you’re rooting for them. You might even take one of their sides, though there are no villains. Gordon showcases the humanity behind Iris having a bit of a breakdown, while Lerman never has Isaac come off like a fuckboy. They’re charming and complicated, but most of all, they feel like real people.

Below, you can see my discussion with Gordon and Lerman. I’d spoken to both before over the years (including Gordon for The Bear here), so there was a familiarity that helped with our limited time. I’d interviewed filmmaker Sophie Brooks earlier in the day (that chat hits tomorrow), so I refer to that conversation as well. Mostly, I wanted Gordon and Lerman to talk about their chemistry, which yielded some interesting answers. You can see them in action in Oh, Hi! and if you’re going by my two cents, this is a must see.
