First Trailer for ‘Eden’ Gives a Look at Ron Howard’s Latest Movie

The first trailer for Eden has been released. Directed by Ron Howard, with a screenplay by Noah Pink, the film will star Jude Law, Ana de Armas, Vanessa Kirby, Daniel Brühl, and Sydney Sweeney.

Here is the plot synopsis:

“Director Ron Howard’s Eden unravels the shocking true story of a group of disillusioned outsiders who abandon civilization, settling on a remote, uninhabited island only to discover that the greatest threat isn’t the brutal climate or deadly wildlife, but each other. As tensions spiral and desperation takes hold, a twisted power struggle unfolds, leading to betrayal, violence, and the deaths of half the colony.”

The film had its world premiere at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival, where our editor-in-chief, Joey Magidson, had a chance to see the movie. In his review, he said that “Eden starts off a little bit slowly, and it’s clear early on to see where things are going, but there’s a sense of campy fun in seeing things deteriorate. There’s a Lord of the Flies feel to it all, but done in a slightly different way than usual. Some of that is Howard getting down and dirty. The rest is the cast being more than willing to do the same.” You can read his full thoughts on the movie here.

You can view the trailer below, and see the movie in theatres on August 22:
