Today brought the first trailer for Aziz Ansari‘s filmmaking debut, Good Fortune. Of course, he had previously started production on a different film, which notably fell apart. Here, he has a fun looking comedy planned, while retaining Seth Rogen from that prior movie. Here, Ansari himself, Rogen, and no less than Keanu Reeves, making up the main cast.
This is the synopsis for the film: “In GOOD FORTUNE, a well-meaning but rather inept angel named Gabriel (Keanu Reeves) meddles in the lives of a struggling gig worker (Aziz Ansari) and a wealthy venture capitalist (Seth Rogen).” Ansari writes and directs, in addition to starring, with the cast, aside from Reeves and Rogen, including Sandra Oh and Keke Palmer. Lionsgate will release this one in theaters on October 17th.
