Weapons is still to come from Zach Cregger (currently planned for January of 2026), but there’s also now anticipation for his take on Resident Evil. The exciting young horror filmmaker is planning to write and direct the latest take on the video game, with all the accompanying buzz and interest. Now, we know who is distributing and when we will see the movie.
According to Variety, Sony has stepped up to put out Resident Evil, with a 2026 release date now set. Specifically, September 18th of 2026 is when it’s scheduled to come out. Cregger will direct from a script he penned with Shay Hatten. More on this one when it begins to come out, as well as on Weapons later on this year.
