As the awards calendar moved in the past week due to the tragic wildfires that have devastated Los Angeles, the Critics Choice Association has announced a new date for its 30th annual awards ceremony. Initially, the show would have taken place on Sunday, January 12th, a week after the 82nd Annual Golden Globes, which were held on Sunday, January 5th.
Due to the wildfires, the CCA postponed its awards ceremony on January 26th. When this proved to be far too soon whilst the city was still grappling with the extent of the fires, the association moved its show once again to February without specifying the date, since everything was still in flux.
Now, the CCA announced that the 30th annual awards show will be held on Friday, February 7th. Chelsea Handler is still set to host the ceremony, which will take place at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica and broadcast live on E! from 7 pm to 10 pm ET. The show will also be available to stream the next day on Peacock.
However, the planned two-hour red carpet special Live from E!: Critics Choice Awards is no longer happening. More details on the awards show itself are likely to come soon.
