Richard Gere has done so much in his career, it’s almost a shock that he hasn’t really ever done television. So, The Agency representing more or less his first real TV role is something to take note of. It actually does feel like a big deal, especially since it’s coming at a later stage in his journey. As such, when it was made possible to speak with him about the part, I jumped at the opportunity. Today, right as the series gets set to premiere, that conversation comes your way.
Below, you can see my short chat with Gere. It was brief, to be sure, so I wanted to hear from him about making this choice to go to television. His thoughts on where TV is, as opposed to when he was a younger man, are certainly worth listening to. Plus, we touch on it being a show where he would have played a different role at a different point in his career, which is always fascinating, as well as being in Paul Schrader‘s upcoming Oh, Canada (my interview with Schrader is here). You can see The Agency on Paramount+ with Showtime literally in a matter of days, so don’t miss it…
Here now is my interview with Richard Gere about The Agency. Enjoy:
The Agency premieres on Paramount+ with Showtime on November 29th!
