‘The Room Next Door’ Wins Golden Lion at 2024 Venice Film Festival

The 2024 edition of the Venice Film Festival is beginning to wrap up. As such, the festival’s prestigious Awards ceremony was held today, presenting its famed Golden Lion prize via a jury presided over by French actress Isabelle Huppert. The Award for the Golden Lion went to Pedro Almodóvar‘s The Room Next Door, his first English-language feature film starring Tilda Swinton and Julianne Moore, with Vincent Lindon and Nicole Kidman respectively winning the Volpi Cups for Best Actor and Actress, for their turns in The Quiet Son and Babygirl.

Oh wow, this is the first time the legendary Spanish filmmaker Pedro Almodóvar has won one of the top prizes from one of the “Big Three” international film festivals. Bien hecho!
