John Malkovich Cast in ‘The Fantastic Four’

The Fantastic Four is rounding up its cast, and after announcing Paul Walter Hauser‘s involvement last week, John Malkovich is now the latest to enter the Matt Shakman-directed project, which will also star Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Joseph Quinn, and Julia Garner.

Like Hauser, Malkovich’s role is kept under wraps, with much speculation going on in how the movie will introduce Marvel’s first family to the MCU after the last attempt at reinvigorating interest in the characters through 2015’s Fant4stic was a massive critical and commercial failure.

The 1960s aesthetic promoted by its first-look images is enough to express interest and make sense since Matt Shakman also toyed with that look in WandaVision, but how exactly will Malkovich and Hauser play into the project? Time will tell, but expectations for this project are high, perhaps much higher than Deadpool & Wolverine, which will hit theatres this July.
