Tom Hanks-Led and Robert Zemeckis-Helmed ‘Here’ To Release in November

Robert Zemeckis‘ latest collaboration with Tom Hanks and Robin Wright, Here, will have a prime awards season release. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film will be released on limited screens on November 15 before going wide on November 27, making it a possible contender in the already busy 2024-2025 awards season.

With a screenplay written by Zemeckis and Eric Roth, based on the book of the same name by Richard McGuire, the film will also star Paul Bettany, Kelly Reilly, Michelle Dockery, Gwilym Lee, Ophelia Lovibond, and Nikki Amuka-Bird. According to THR, the film will tell the story of “multiple families over the course of generations and a location that is special to them.”

While Hanks has worked with Zemeckis on numerous projects after the Oscar-winning Forrest Gump, the film will mark the first time Hanks, Wright, and Zemeckis collaborated together after that film. It also reunites Zemeckis and Roth, who co-wrote the 1994 film’s screenplay. Because of this, one could think the film might have the chance to score big this awards season, especially considering the fact that it’s getting released on the same year Forrest Gump blew audiences away, thirty years ago. Silly coincidence? The stars may be aligning for something special.
