On the heels of a massively successful box office run, director Eli Roth has announced that Thanksgiving 2 is officially in the works. The first installment, starring Patrick Dempsey, Addison Rae, and Gina Gershon, received the best reviews of Roth’s entire filmography and has grossed over $30 million worldwide on a budget of $15 million.
In an Instagram post, Roth confirmed the news, thanking the fans for supporting original horror on the big screen and stating that the sequel is set to release in 2025. Writing on the sequel has begun, with Roth saying he is taking a year to get the story right, though it is unclear if any of the original cast members will return to reprise their roles. However, Jeff Rendell is returning to write the screenplay with Roth.
