Awards Radar Podcast #312: Joey and Kate Look at the Best Actress / Best Supporting Actress Fields

Welcome back to the Awards Radar Podcast. In each episode, Editor Joey Magidson (that’s me!) will be joined by some of the staff of Awards Radar to talk about the latest in film, television, and entertainment in general. The show will obviously have an awards season slant to it, but we won’t forget about other movies and shows, that’s for sure!

For episode 312, I’m joined once again by Kate Schroeder as co-host, back from vacation, with producer Steve Prusakowski working behind the scenes and, of course, handling TV Topics. This is a somewhat shorter episode, as Kate was dealing with jet lag and I had just gotten back from a deeply embargoed screening. Still, we did something fun, as we looked at two Oscar categories! Today, it’s Best Actress (my rankings are here) and Best Supporting Actress (my rankings are here). Those categories lead to us also once again singing the praises of Mike Leigh‘s Tender Loving Care (my rave review is here). Next week, it’ll be Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor. Throw in some spooky season chatter as well as a quick discussions of what we’ve seen, led by Whalefall (reviewed here), and it’s a very solid episode…
