First Trailer for ‘The Zone of Interest’ Releases After Lengthy Festival Premieres

The first trailer for The Zone of Interest has finally been released online. Written and directed by Jonathan Glazer and based on the novel of the same name written by Martin Amis, the film stars Christian Friedel, Sandra Hüller, Johann Kartaus, and Luis Noah Witte.

Here is the plot synopsis:

“The commandant of Auschwitz, Rudolf Höss, and his wife Hedwig, strive to build a dream life for their family in a house and garden next to the camp.”

Additionally, a poster was also released, which you can look at below:

Our editor-in-chief, Joey Magidson, had a chance to see the film at the Telluride Film Festival, and praised the performances of Friedel and Hüller, stating that they are “chillingly good”:

“They could easily be playing any power couple, and that’s the point. Hüller’s status obsessed Hedwig turns on a steeliness when her way of life is potentially threatened. Friedel’s Rudolf is a middle manager, through and through. They bring these ordinary aspects to life, elevating the chilling nature of the film.”

You can read his full review of the movie here.

You can watch the full trailer below and see the movie in select theatres as of December 15:

Okay, that’s the best poster of 2023. Simple in design, communicates the main theme in a visually inventive way… excellent promotional image.
