It has been six years and counting since Lynne Ramsay last made a film, with the rather underrated You Were Never Really Here. Projects take a while to come together for her, so it’s usually a wait. However, it seems like some movies might be around the corner for Ramsay, once the strikes are resolved, of course.
According to Variety, Ramsay was receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Sarajevo Film Festival and discussed several of her upcoming projects. Her next movie to be shot is likely an adaptation of the novel Die, My Love, which will star Jennifer Lawrence. She also has her latest collaboration with Joaquin Phoenix, called Polaris (though it might be retitled to Dark Slides), in the can. Down the line, she’d like to make Stone Mattress with Julianne Moore and Sandra Oh, as well as a reimagining of Moby Dick in space. Stay tuned to see which end up happening, once the industry gets back to work.
