The hit sitcom Party Down returned for a third season this year after a massive thirteen-year hiatus between the second and third seasons. While left wondering what took so long for a thirds season, the extended absence did not stop the party for fans of the series. Party Down returned to Starz as if it had never left, receiving rave reviews (including one by Awards Radar’s Steven Prusakowski) at the time of its revival.
Stars Ken Marino, Jane Lynch, Jennifer Garner, Martin Starr, Megan Mullally, Ryan Hansen, Tyrel Jackson Williams, and Zoë Chao recently attended an FYC event with a screening of episodes 304 & 305, followed by a panel discussion with the stars. Attendees were treated to a prom-themed FYC event, coupled with a “corsage and boutonniere section, spike punch-inspired “Prom King and Queen” cocktails, pink velour and balloon backdrops and more.”
Starz is also pulling off an incredible campaign for the show through some guerrilla marketing. Posters have taken over double-decker buses through June 11 and aerial banners will also fly this weekend, on June 10 and 11. Pull tabs will also be installed throughout Los Angeles until July 2. All of these materials direct viewers to www.partydowncatering.org, where Television Academy members can “Make this Awards Season a Pink-Tie Event!” where their “Award-Winning Team” will “crater your special event! [sic]”
