The first trailer for the latest adaptation of D.H. Lawrence‘s Lady Chatterley’s Lover has been released. Directed by Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre, and written by David Magee, the movie stars Emma Corrin, Jack O’Connell, Joely Richardson, Ella Hunt, and Faye Marsay.
The book has been adapted numerous times on the screen, which includes the late Just Jaeckin‘s 1981 version, which starred Sylvia Kristel and is highly regarded as one of the worst book-to-film adaptations ever made, with the director publically disowning the film in 2015’s Electric Boogaloo: The Wild, Untold Story of Cannon Films.
Its plot synopsis reads, “Connie, born into wealth & privilege, finds herself married to a man she no longer loves. When she meets Oliver, the estate’s gamekeeper, their secret trysts lead her to a sexual awakening. She faces a decision: follow her heart or return to her husband and endure what society expects of her.”
You can watch the trailer below and see the film on Netflix on December 2:
