Ryan Gosling Reportedly Joins Margot Robbie for an ‘Ocean’s Eleven’ Prequel

Ryan Gosling is reportedly collaborating with Margot Robbie again. After starring together in next summer’s Barbie, a recent Puck News newsletter indicates that the duo will appear together in a prequel to Ocean’s Eleven. The project was first announced back in May of this year, and there are not a lot details available regarding its plot and characters.

The film will be directed by Jay Roach (Bombshell, Trumbo) and will reportedly take place in the sixties. A higher budget than previous installments in the franchise is implied for the new movie, due to the fact that this sort of setting would elevate the costs of production.

Barbie was directed by Greta Gerwig, and it will be released in theaters on July 21st, 2023. The screenplay was written by Gerwig herself, alongside her husband, fellow director Noah Baumbach. The film will also feature performances by Will Ferrell, America Ferrera and Simu Liu.

The last movie in the Ocean’s franchise was 2018’s Ocean’s 8, starring Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling and Sarah Paulson. The installment grossed $297 million worldwide at the box office and received mostly positive reviews.
