Martin Scorsese’s ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ Will Be a 2023 Release

At one point, it seemed like Apple was poised to potentially dominate the Oscar season this year, with both Emancipation and Killers of the Flower Moon looming as their big guns. Of course, Will Smith‘s actions at the Academy Awards complicated the calculus for the former, leading to increased suspicions that we’d see the latter in 2022. Well, it looks like we’re going to have to wait a little longer for Martin Scorsese‘s latest collaboration with Leonardo DiCaprio.

According to Variety, Killers of the Flower Moon is looking to make a splash for Apple in 2023. Ideally, they’re planning to launch at the Cannes Film Festival or the Venice Film Festival, bypassing 2022 entirely. Scorsese notably takes a long time in the editing room, so in all likelihood, the movie just isn’t ready yet. Keep in mind, Apple hasn’t confirmed this, so it’s not a sure thing, but predictions still are likely needing to be updated by Joey and fellow prognosticators.
