Michael Waldron is on quite the run right now. The talented writer who first caught my eye with his work on the hit animated show Rick and Morty (the episode he has his solo writing credit for is an instant classic) has spent the last year or so establishing himself as a force within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In addition to penning the Doctor Strange sequel Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (which I reviewed here), he was the head writer for Loki, show-running and helping to produce Marvel’s most ambitious Disney+ series. As the show competes for major Emmy attention, I spoke to Waldron about being the mad scientist behind all of it.

Below, you can see my conversation with Waldron. We recorded this discussion just prior to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness hitting, so we spoke very vaguely about that Marvel blockbuster, with the focus mainly being on Loki (with a touch of Rick and Morty thrown in as well). It goes without saying that Waldron is a guy with some wild ideas floating around in his head, so it was a pleasure to spend some time hearing all about it. We have a good time, so especially if you’ve liked any of his Marvel work, especially Loki, you’re in for a treat…

Here now is my interview with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Loki mastermind Michael Waldron. Enjoy:

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is now in theaters and Loki can be seen on Disney+ right now!
