First Look At Bradley Cooper and Carey Mulligan in ‘Maestro’

Netflix released today select images from the set of Bradley Cooper‘s latest directorial effort, Maestro. Written by Cooper and Josh Singer, the movie also stars Cooper as Leonard Bernstein, Carey Mulligan as Felicia Montealegre, Jeremy Strong as John Gruen, Maya Hawke as Jamie Bernstein, and Matt Bomer in an as of yet undisclosed role.

The movie will act as a biopic of Bernstein’s life, and focus on his relationship and marriage to Felicia Montealegre. The movie will be produced by Martin Scorsese, Steven Spielberg, Kristie Macosko Krieger, Fred Berner, Amy Durning, as well as Cooper himself, and will be released on Netflix sometime in 2023, likely close to awards season.

*Sigh*

Bradley Cooper is owed an Oscar, but wouldn’t it be nice if this makeup-heavy biopic mimicry wasn’t seemingly the only reliable path for a performer to get one?

You’d wish. Here’s hoping at least the movie is good.
