The first trailer for Kogonada‘s latest movie, After Yang, has finally been released. Starring Colin Farrell, Jodie Turner-Smith, Justin H. Min, Clifton Collins Jr., and Haley Lu Richardson, it will hit theatres and Showtime on March 4th, the same day The Batman comes out, which also stars Farrell.
The plot synopsis of the movie reads: ‘When his young daughter’s beloved companion — an android named Yang — malfunctions, Jake (Colin Farrell) searches for a way to repair him. In the process, Jake discovers the life that has been passing in front of him, reconnecting with his wife (Jodie Turner-Smith) and daughter across a distance he didn’t know was there.”
Editor-in-chief Joey Magidson saw the movie at Sundance and wrote in his review that the movie “continues to suggest that Kogonada is an exciting indie storyteller” and that “Colin Farrell leads a cast that’s completely dialed in to the premise”, with the lead actor’s chemistry with Jodie Turner-Smith “bring in layers as the film progresses.” You can read his full review here.
