Welcome to 2022! With the calendar fully turned over from 2021, we’re about to get an entire slate of new movies to dig into. This coming weekend, The 355 is the first major release of the year. Beyond that? Well, there’s literally everything. Last year, I posed this list for 2021 on January 1st (here) and managed to hit on a lot of the major flicks. Of course, I didn’t hit on everything, and even some of the ones I did have graduated to this list. Today, you’ll see my collection of the 100 bits of cinema that I most think are worth considering during the impending twelve months. Fun, right? Yeah, I thought so.
Below, you’ll find a number of films that I’m excited about in the year to come. In a handful of cases, I’ve already seen them. In fact, there may even be reviews on the site (linked when so). Hey, maybe I’m even embargoed on one or two bigger ones? Who knows? Regardless, 2022 has some really intriguing titles on the horizon. There are blockbusters like The Batman, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, The Flash, Jurassic World: Dominion, Mission: Impossible 7, Thor: Love and Thunder, Top Gun: Maverick, and more. We have Oscar fare like Babylon, The Fablemans, Killers of the Flower Moon, Maestro, She Said, and The Whale, to name a few. Plus, there are things that just appeal to certain audiences, but that’s cool too. Obviously, considering I have Clerks III on this list ranked highly, I’m fine with that. Take a look next and stay tuned for all of these titles, or at least the ones that don’t get delayed…
