Joaquin Phoenix stars in the upcoming film C’mon C’mon, helmed by Beginners and 20th Century Women director Mike Mills. Mills’ second A24 film is set to be released during this awards season and debuted a trailer this morning.
The film follows a radio journalist (Phoenix) who goes on a cross-country journey with his nephew, played by Woody Norman. The film’s cast also includes Scott McNairy and Gaby Hoffman.
The film premiered on September 2 at the Telluride Film Festival and is set to screen at the New York Film Festival on October 4.
The film boasts Joaquin Phoenix’s first film performance to be released since his Oscar-winning turn in Todd Phillips’ Joker. With a strong actor leading the cast and a strong director behind the camera, it’s safe to assume C’Mon C’Mon is going for the Oscar gold.
