Jake Gyllenhaal Stars in ‘The Guilty’ Official Trailer

In less than a month, prepare for long-time actor Jake Gyllenhaal to deliver what is shaping up to be yet another excellent performance – this time as police detective Joe Bayler in Antoine Fuqua‘s upcoming crime-thriller The Guilty.

The film, also starring Ethan Hawke, Riley Keough, Eli Goree, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Paul Dano, and Peter Sarsgaard follows Joe Bayler, a police detective who must do everything he can to save a kidnapped woman after receiving an ominous phone call asking for help.

The Guilty is based on a Danish crime thriller of the same name by Gustav Möller and Emil Nygaard Albertsen released in 2018. Fuqua’s American adaptation is scheduled to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 11, 2021, before being released to the public on Netflix on October 1st.
