The official lineup for the 2021 BFI London Film Festival has been announced.
The festival, which will run in person in London, across the UK in ten cinemas as well as online. Previous titles that were announced for the festival included the opening film The Harder They Fall, the closing film The Tragedy of Macbeth, as well as The Power of the Dog.
The films that will be competing for the Best Film Award are: Belle, Il Buco, The Hand of God, Nitram, Hit the Road, Sundown, True Things and Lingui, The Sacred Bonds. Last year, the Best Film Award went to Thomas Vinterberg’s Another Round.
Some major announcements were made for this year’s festival, in particular the Headline Galas. Benedetta, The French Dispatch, King Richard, Last Night in Soho, The Lost Daughter and Spencer will all play at this year’s festival in London and across the UK. A list of the other headlining Gala presentations are as follows:
Family Gala: Ron’s Gone Wrong
Patrons’ Gala: Mothering Sunday
Londoner Gala: The Souvenir: Part II
American Air Gala: Belfast
