The year is not quite over yet and that means we still have plenty of new release films coming out within the next few months, many of which are big blockbusters but there are also a handful of smaller, independent movies that will surely capture viewers’ attention.
One of these promising films is Stop and Go, directed by Mallory Everton and Stephen Meek starring Whitney Call and Everton. Initially titled Recovery, Joey really enjoyed it at SXSW (his review is here). The synopsis, courtesy of Decal, a new venture between NEON and Bleecker Street, reads as follows:
Sisters Blake and Jamie’s big plans for the year come to a screeching halt when they are forced to rescue their grandmother and her beloved dog from her nursing home, before their reckless sister can get there first. They embark on a hilarious cross-country race against time while contending with a deranged dog breeder, a highly inappropriate 9-year-old, and a clueless Romeo, all in the name of family. |
In addition to the synopsis, the first trailer and official poster have also been revealed, both of which can be viewed below:
Stop and Go is scheduled to be released in theaters and on-demand on October 1, 2021.
