With Mare of Easttown nearing the ends of its run, another new prestige limited series with A-list stars is ready to emerge in its wake. Apple TV+ has unveiled the trailer for Lisey’s Story, the highly anticipated adaptation of Stephen King’s 2006 novel that’s described as combining “elements of psychological horror and romance”.
King wrote all eight episodes of the limited series, a rare move for the prolific author, with J.J. Abrams producing and Pablo Larraín (No, Jackie) directing the entire run.
The series tells the story of Lisey Landon (Julianne Moore), who two years after the death of her husband (Clive Owen) begins to uncover memories of her marriage that she had blocked out of her mind. Alongside Moore and Owen, the series also stars Joan Allen, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Dane DeHaan, Ron Cephas Jones, and Sung Kang.
Apple TV+ will release the first two episodes of the series on June 4, 2021, followed by one new episode every Friday.
