Tom Holland is staying busy.
Having just starred in the recent AppleTV+ original film Cherry, the actor is teaming up with the streamer again for The Crowded Room, a 10-episode anthology series from Oscar-winning writer Akiva Goldsman (A Beautiful Mind).
The first season of the series will be based on The Minds of Billy Milligan, a biography of the first person ever acquitted of a crime due to a diagnosis of Dissociative Identity Disorder. Holland will be playing Milligan in the series.
Each season of The Crowded Room is set to focus on a different story of someone who has learned to live with mental illness, certainly an important subject matter that can be difficult to adapt to screen. Goldsman and Holland will hope to do justice to this material with this big new series from Apple, which has been ordered straight to series.
Holland already has two films out this year, with the long-delayed Chaos Walking being released along with Cherry. He’ll next be seen in the third solo big-screen adventure for his iteration of everyone’s favorite wall-crawler in Spider-Man: Far From Home, currently set for a December 17, 2021 release date. Soon after he’ll be seen in another long-delayed project finally hitting the screen, the cinematic adaptation of beloved video game franchise Uncharted, where he can be seen as Nathan Drake on February 18, 2022.
