Final Trailer for ‘Black Widow’ Teases A Deeper Exploration of Natasha Romanoff’s Origins

The marketing campaign for Black Widow has officially begun again, now that Disney has announced last week the film would have a simultaneous hybrid release, both in theaters and on Disney+ (with an additional fee).

This final trailer mixes old footage from the previous appearances by Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson) in the MCU, culminating with her sacrifice in Avengers: Endgame and new, dynamic footage, promising big action set-pieces and a deeper character exploration of Natasha’s past, which was teased during Avengers: Age of Ultron. The film is set in-between Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War, and will tease the future appearance of Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, set to reprise her role in Disney+’s Hawkeye series, which will premiere later this year. Here’s the official plot synopsis from Marvel.com:

“In Black Widow, Natasha Romanoff confronts the darker parts of her ledger when a dangerous conspiracy with ties to her past arises. Pursued by a force that will stop at nothing to bring her down, Natasha must deal with her history as a spy and the broken relationships left in her wake long before she became an Avenger. Directed by Cate Shortland and produced by Kevin Feige, the movie stars Scarlett Johansson reprising her role as Natasha Romanoff. Florence Pugh stars as Yelena Belova, David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov aka Red Guardian, and Rachel Weisz as Melina Vostokoff.”

Black Widow hits theaters and Disney+ (with Premier Access) on July 9th. You can watch the new trailer below:
