Behold a New Trailer for ‘Spiral: From the Book of Saw’

Would you like to play a game?

After being released from its initial date of May 15, 2020, Spiral: From the Book of Saw is finally gearing up to hit theaters almost exactly a year later, with a new date set for May 14, 2021.

With the release seeming a pretty safe bet to actually happen this time as more theaters open up, Lionsgate has dropped a new trailer for the film to remind people why they were excited to see it all that time ago. Awards Radar has certainly been looking forward to seeing what this new “chapter” is all about, having placed the film high among Joey’s list of Movies to Look Forward to in 2021.

Seeming to be a soft-reboot for the stagnant franchise, Spiral stars Chris Rock as a detective investigating a series of grisly murders that are connected in some way to iconic series villain Jigsaw. Naturally, Rock’s detective ends up wrapped into the game himself.

This is a bit of a passion project for Rock, who was instrumental in getting the series back up and running, hoping to give it new life as we’ve seen in recent years for dormant horror franchises like Halloween

Starring alongside Rock in the film are Samuel L. JacksonMax Minghella, and Marisol Nichols, with Darren Lynn Bousman on to direct (who we interviewed here).

See the new trailer below, and find out the answers to all of Spiral’s mysteries when it releases in theaters on May 14th.
