Christopher Nolan‘s hit movie The Odyssey has been a box office juggernaut this year, eclipsed in coverage only by Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Well, while the film won’t be able to reach the heights of that superhero sequel, it has taken down another one for the mantle of highest grossing R-rated production to date. More below.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Odyssey is now up to $1.352 billion at the global box office, which takes the crown from previous champion Deadpool & Wolverine. That film was at the top of the mountain, until now, with $1.338 billion globally. Congrats to Nolan and company, who managed to make an R-rated Greek epic into a record setting smash.
