The opening weekend for Spider-Man: Brand New Day was always going to be big. The question was simply, how big? Well, it had seemed yesterday afternoon that the film had managed to have the second biggest domestic opening ever, just off of Avengers: Endgame. Then, the final numbers came in, and we can now report a changing of the box office champion guard.
According to Box Office Mojo and others, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has ended up with a domestic weekend haul of $360 million. Initially, we all reported the weekend as $355 million, just shy of the $357 taken in by previous champion Avengers: Endgame. Well, Marvel has a new champion to crown. Congrats.
