Sean Penn to Direct Film About January 6th Cop with Bradley Cooper in Talks to Star

After winning his third Academy Award, it seems like Sean Penn is ready to use that capital in order to step behind the camera again. The project? It apparently is the story of the early life of a cop who went on to be caught up in the January 6th Capitol riots and attempted insurrection. Penn has written the script, and is in talks with quite the A-lister for the lead role. More below.

According to Deadline, no less than Bradley Cooper is in talks to play the cop. There’s no deal yet, though the project is set up at Warner Bros., which saw Penn just win Best Supporting Actor for One Battle After Another. Details on the film are scarce, but it’s being described as an unexpected story about friendship, with the as of yet unidentified person it’s based on being on board for this.
