First Teaser Trailer for ‘Shrek 5’ Hints at a Grandiose Cinematic Event

The first teaser trailer for Shrek 5 has been released online. Directed by Walt Dohrn and Conrad Vernon with a screenplay written by Michel McCullers, the movie will see Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, and Cameron Diaz reprise their iconic roles as Shrek, Donkey, and Fiona, respectively. Joining the cast this time around are Zendaya as Shrek and Fiona’s daughter, Felicia, alongside Marcello Hernandez and Skyler Gisondo as her siblings, Fergus and Farkle.

No plot synopsis has been given yet, but the Shrek franchise is one of Hollywood’s most lucrative animated series, having grossed $2.9 billion at the global box office. It was also the first movie to win the Oscar for Best Animated Feature when DreamWorks first adapted William Steig’s world to life, which has since spawned a Broadway musical, several television specials, and critically acclaimed spin-offs focused on Puss in Boots, voiced by Antonio Banderas.

Shrek 5 is produced by Gina Shay, who produced Shrek Forever After, and by Illumination CEO and Academy Award nominee Chris Meledandri. Watch the trailer below and see the movie in theatres on June 30, 2027:
