One of the final movies to premiere In Competition at the Cannes Film Festival this year is Lukas Dhont‘s Coward. While we’re still a few hours out from any awards being given, Dhont has crafted a film that has been part of the final wave of strong titles debuting at Cannes. Now, as things wrap up, Mubi has stepped up to acquire it. More below.
According to Variety, Mubi will be distributing Coward stateside. With one of the longer standing ovations of anything at Cannes this year, that could bode well for the company as they look to assemble their upcoming awards season lineup. Look for this one to potentially be one of the players in Best International Feature Film, especially if it takes a prize today. Stay tuned.
