Doug Liman is Planning His Own ‘Road House’ Sequel?

Now this is an interesting development. After the success of Road House for Amazon MGM last year, work on a sequel to the Doug Liman directed, Jake Gyllenhaal starring remake got underway. Then, it was reported that Liman had left the project, with Ilya Naishuler taking over as director. Well, Liman does not appear done with the property, as you’ll find out below.

According to Deadline, Liman is planning to make his own sequel. Gyllenhaal and Naishuler are proceeding with making Road House 2, of course, but Liman has acquired the rights to Road House: Dylan, the sequel book from author R. Lance Hill. How this all works out remains to be seen, but there’s some bad blood between Amazon MGM and Liman for sure, which is filtering out into the dueling sequels. Stay tuned.
