Today, Apple Original Films has unveiled a second trailer for The Lost Bus from Paul Greengrass. Matthew McConaughey stars for Greengrass, who directs and co-writes, with America Ferrera among the supporting cast. Our own Joey Magidson saw the movie earlier this month at the Toronto International Film Festival, calling it here an “intense and visceral experience.”
This is what Apple has to say about the film:
Following the world premiere of “The Lost Bus” at the 50th annual Toronto International Film Festival, where critics hailed the film as “an instant classic” and a “celebration of simple heroism, community and overcoming adversity” that “keeps you breathless and on the edge of your seat,” Apple Original Films unveiled a second trailer for the highly anticipated new thriller. Directed by Academy Award-nominee Paul Greengrass and inspired by real events, “The Lost Bus” is a white-knuckle ride through one of America’s deadliest wildfires, as a wayward school bus driver (Academy Award-winner Matthew McConaughey) and a dedicated school teacher (Emmy, SAG and Golden Globe Award-winner America Ferrera) battle to save 22 children from the terrifying inferno. Hailed by critics “The Lost Bus” will debut in select theaters on September 19, 2025, before premiering globally on Apple TV+ Friday, October 3, 2025.
Written by Greengrass and Brad Ingelsby, who also serve as producers, “The Lost Bus” is produced by Gregory Goodman, Jason Blum for Blumhouse Productions, and Jamie Lee Curtis for Comet Pictures. The film is executive produced by Amy Lord and Lizzie Johnson, author of “’Paradise: One Town’s Struggle to Survive an American Wildfire.” In addition to Matthew McConaughey, America Ferrera, Yul Vazquez, Ashlie Atkinson and Spencer Watson also star in the film.
