Ed Zwick to Direct ‘The Creed of Violence’

The Creed of Violence, ever since it was published a little over fifteen years ago, has been a white whale for actors and filmmakers. The movie was once going to be directed by Todd Field, with Daniel Craig starring. Christian Bale and Leonardo DiCaprio have also attempted to get the project off the ground with them attached. Well, a new filmmaker is taking a crack at it.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ed Zwick is the latest to take a stab at directing the film. The Creed of Violence is a revisionist western, so it would be a different type of movie for Zwick and collaborator Marshall Herskovitz, as the pair will co-write. If the film moves forward, it will be interesting to see if any of the prior actors return to star, or if someone new comes aboard. Stay tuned for more.
