With the fall festival season only a little over a month away now, we’re starting to get looks at several movies that might play at various festivals. One such film is Ballad of a Small Player from Netflix. The drama returns director Edward Berger to the streamer, this time with Colin Farrell as his star. Today, Netflix announced a release date for the movie, as well as sharing a few first look images. Farrell stars for Berger, with the cast also including Fala Chen, Deanie Ip, Alex Jennings, and Tilda Swinton.
The synopsis for the film is as follows: “When his past and his debts start to catch up with him, a high-stakes gambler laying low in Macau encounters a kindred spirit who might just hold the key to his salvation.”
Netflix will release Ballad of a Small Player in select theaters on October 15th, with its streaming date on October 29th.
