A few months ago, in light of Amazon MGM taking over creating be control of the James Bond franchise, our own Joey Magidson made a list of potential names who would could direct a 007 movie (found here). Well, it seems like he was just a little ahead of the powers that be, as directors in cont nation for the job have begun to emerge. Read on to see who.
According to Matthew Belloni at Puck, the following names have either pitched or are going to pitch helming Bond: Edward Berger, Paul King, Jonathan Nolan, Denis Villeneuve, and Edgar Wright. Alfonso Cuarón was apparently a consideration but has pulled out of the running, for one reason or another. An eclectic group, but not a wholly unexpected one, either (especially considering the crossover with Joey’s list). Stay tuned to see if a frontrunner for the gig emerges.
