In short order, Jesse Eisenberg has become not just a talented actor, but an exciting filmmaker as well. His sophomore feature A Real Pain just scored him an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay, while Kieran Culkin won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor. Now, as he gets ready to helm his third feature, a familiar distributor has come onboard.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, A24 will release Eisenberg’s next film. The shingle actually put out his writing and directing debut, When You Finish Saving the World, so this movie will be a reunion of sorts. The plot, according to A24, follows ““a shy woman who is unexpectedly cast in a community theater musical production, going to extremes as she loses herself in the role.” Julianne Moore and Paul Giamatti lead the project, which also features Halle Bailey, Havana Rose Liu, and Bernadette Peters.
